✨ Hey gorgeous souls, thought I would do a little re~introduction as it’s been a while, and I’ve recently gone awol while I’ve focused on my health as it was that time of year.
I’m Radhi 👋 ~ Founder & Creative Director of @iampylgrym. ✨🪬🪽
SEPTEMBER is Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month, and it holds deep meaning for me. In September 2016, at just 33, I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. I was living in London & went in to have a procedure to help me conceive baby ✌️. Instead I came out with a cancer diagnosis. “You have cancer” ~ three words that changed my life. And. Three words that became the seed of something new. A different pathway if you will.
A year after healing, the vision for I AM PYLGRYM was born. In 2019, she came to life: a women’s label, created as a celebration and convergence of cultures, travel, artistry, femininity and beauty. Every piece a reminder that we can walk through fire, and still create beauty.
Since returning to Australia, I’ve been under the care of the incredible @profandreasobermair ~ whose pioneering work in gynaecological cancer research inspires so much hope. Through @cherishwomen ~ his charity, he is advancing innovative and kinder treatments for women ~ a desperately underfunded area of cancer research.
This week, I received my 9th year all-clear. Words every survivor longs to hear. My treatment journey has been a blend of science and lifestyle ~ a Mirena IUD, radical dietary shifts, and a devotion to wellness. And today, I want to use this moment to give back.
🤍 To all women: please listen to your bodies, get checked, and prioritise your health.
🤍 To my community: if you can, please support @cherishwomen ~ every contribution helps women like you and I have access to better outcomes.
I AM PYLGRYM exists because of this journey. It’s fashion woven with resilience, hope, and love for women everywhere. To look good. Feel good. And be well.
I wish this for every single one of you. Thank you for being here.
Much love & gratitude 🙏
Radhi xx
